3 Steps to Believe in Yourself
As I was scrolling through Facebook the other day I saw an image that caught my attention. It said, “If you were able to believe in Santa Clause for like 8 years, you can believe in yourself for like 5 minutes.”Wow. That was eye opening for me. A sense of sadness washed over me as I realized the world is full of people who don’t believe in themselves. I was one of them. It’s something that we’ve been taught since we were children and it is one of the reasons dreams aren’t coming into fruition.
Believing in yourself means being empowered, fearless, fully living and following your heart wisdom into the unknown. It means committing to yourself regardless of what others might say.
That can be scary.
It brings up self-doubt, confusion, uncertainty, anxiety.
Then the mind begins to spiral out of control and take over with negative self-talk. The thoughts of not being good enough; it’s too hard and struggling to figure out what the next step is not knowing the right direction to take; feeling like you need more education, practice or knowledge; comparing ourselves to others thinking they are better or more experienced; thoughts of I can’t do this or that and other insecurities literally stop us in our tracks.
We dream of breaking free from the box we find ourselves in, yet we hold ourselves back, stay small and don’t rock the boat because we are fearful of failure, of rejection, of being less than enough.
The truth is, that idea you had, that desire deep within your core – it’s there for a reason. It’s there because you CAN do it.
It’s calling to you and inviting you to expand into that reality.
It’s asking you to make a decision based in love and growth.
When you struggle finding the strength to believe in yourself and follow your heart wisdom here are 3 easy steps you can take to get you back on track and believe in yourself again.
1) Use a mantra. Mantras can be powerful words that altar the thoughts you think on a regular basis into something more positive. This can be anything that inspires you and increases your confidence.
2) Start keeping track of all your accomplishments. Where have you succeeded in life? What goals were you able to accomplish today? Take a moment and feel those within each cell of your body. When we honor and celebrate who we are and the success we have had there are bound to be more successes to be grateful for.
3) Ask your friends for support. Much of the time, simply having another person offering you encouragement can ignite more motivation and belief in yourself. Plus they know your strengths intimately and are able to point out what you excel at. (And that always makes us feel good and offers a new perspective!)
I’d love to hear what you have experienced by doing these simple steps.

I currently support and serve women who are stuck in fear and co-dependent relationships. She forgot how to take care of herself, making the needs of others more important than her own. She never learned how to self-love or own and speak her truth. She has become dis-empowered and does not believe in herself anymore. She feels disconnected, confused, and uncertain. She doubts herself and has been living in the past or seeking to hide in her future, hoping it will be better than her present. She is seeking freedom, happiness and permission to love her life. She is not fully living, and that is what she truly desires to experience; a wholeness within herself.
In light of the holiday spirit, I have chosen to offer one woman 6 Soul Therapist Sessions as a gift. If you are interested in receiving this, please email me with the details of why you could benefit from these sessions. You must be willing to commit to the work and meeting weekly for 6 consecutive weeks.
